McCook Quarry has partnered with the Township of Lyons to form the Lyons Township Quarry Advisory Council.

The purpose of the Council is to provide a forum for local residents to discuss issues impacting the communities surrounding the McCook Quarry - including Brookfield, Lyons, Lyons Twp., LaGrange, McCook, Countryside, Hodgkins, LaGrange Park, Western Springs and Willow Springs. The Council also provides a platform for Vulcan to communicate with our neighbors and foster our ongoing participation and growth as members of the community.

An event hosted by the Council is Law Enforcement Day. Law Enforcement Day brings together Vulcan employees and local law enforcement officers to educate and promote road safety to customer truck drivers. The event was established based on feedback from Council members seeking a further discussion on truck traffic and road safety.

The council maintains the 1-866-713-4VMC hotline for community feedback and input.
